Stay informed about important activities in Tropic by customizing your notification settings. You can choose to receive notifications via email, Slack, or both. This flexibility helps you stay on top of key actions without overwhelming your inbox or chat.
Note: You will need to ensure your organization is connected to Slack to receive Slack notifications.
How to Enable or Disable Notifications
- In Tropic or in the Purchasing Portal
- Click your avatar and select Profile & Notifications.
- Under Notifications, toggle between Slack and Email to enable or disable specific notification types.
Some notifications, like contract renewals or Mentions are essential and must be enabled on at least one channel (email or Slack).

Requests and Contracts:

Owned Requests and Contracts: Get alerts for activities related to requests and contracts you own. These alerts will be available in Action Center
- Slack | Email
- Requests Submission: Receive alerts when requests are submitted if you're an Organization owner. These alerts will be available in Action Center
- Slack | Email

Contract Renewals & Review Reminders: Be notified when a contract is due for renewal or review to never miss savings opportunities.
- Slack | Email (Tropic always sends an email for renewals), so Email is always selected.

Mentions: Receive alerts when you’re tagged in comments on requests or contracts. These alerts will be available in Action Center

Request Spend & Anticipated Spend Change: Stay updated on any changes to anticipated spend within requests.
