Overview
Typically, tasks are automatically opened and assigned based on a request’s workflow. In some cases, you may also want to add additional tasks to an open request. For example, you may want to collect an extra document or get another approval before signature. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to add a task to an open request without changing the request’s workflow or other tasks.
Important: Adding a task does not change the request’s workflow or other tasks.
Add a Task to a Request
You can add a task using the following steps:
- In Tropic, click Requests and select the request you need to update
- Click Workflow Tasks tab
- Click Add Task.
- Fill out the task fields.
- Under Trigger, use Open this Task when the following is completed to select an opening trigger for the task. We recommend you select the last closed task in the workflow
- Click Add Task.
Note: Use When this Task is completed, open the following to select the next task in the workflow.
Important: When adding a task to an open request, please ensure that the Request Stage field is not left blank. This field is required and must be selected to successfully add a task.
