Overview
In Tropic, a contract owner is a user responsible for managing a contract record. Contract owners play a key role in ensuring smooth contract management.
Responsibilities of a Contract Owner:
- Receive renewal reminders and create renewal requests for their contracts.
- Receive access requests for SaaS contract suppliers.
- Edit their contract records and add documents to them.
Note: A contract can have multiple owners, and portal users can act as contract owners.
Viewing Contracts You Own
You can view contracts where you are the owner through the following methods:
In the Purchasing Portal:
- Scroll down to the Your Contracts section.
In the Tropic Platform:
- Go to Contracts and apply the Owner filter.
- Navigate to Suppliers and filter by Contract Owner.
Adding or Changing a Contract’s Owners
- Navigate to the contract you want to update.
- Click Edit
- In the Owner field, add new owners or remove existing ones.
- Click Save
Important Notes:
- You can only edit a contract record if you are an existing contract owner or have a user role with Tropic platform access.
- Assigning multiple owners helps distribute responsibilities and ensures consistent contract oversight.
