Overview
As an Owner, you can edit a workflow's details to update its name or purchase category. However, certain considerations must be addressed before making changes to ensure workflows and assignment rules remain functional.
Key Considerations Before Editing a Workflow
- Workflow assignment rules only allow requests to be assigned to workflows with the same purchase category.
- If a workflow is part of an assignment rule, you must replace it in the rule before changing its purchase category.
- A workflow's purchase category determines the request form, which impacts the questions available for question-based task rules.
How to Edit a Workflow’s Details
From the Purchase Workflows Page:
- In Settings → Purchase Workflows.
- Locate the workflow and click the ellipsis (...) in the corresponding row.
- Select Edit Workflow Details.
- Make your updates and click Save.
From the Workflow Studio:
- Navigate to the specific workflow you need to edit.
- In the Workflow Studio, expand the right-hand panel.
- Click the Edit icon to open the Edit Workflow Details form.
- Make your updates and click Save.
