Handling Approval Tasks
Approving a Request
- Locate the Approve button in your Slack notification.
- Click Approve, confirm your approval in the prompt that appears.
- Click close on the Approval Submitted modal.
- After approval, a message will indicate that the request was approved with the date.
- The task will be marked as Completed and can be viewed in the Request's Workflow Tasks tab, under the Completed and Skipped Tasks section.
Requesting Changes
- Click Request Changes in your Slack notification.
- Specify the modifications needed, and assign the task to your teammate or a Dept and click Confirm
- Once you submit the request change the task is tagged as Revision Task in the Open Tasks tab.
- After the change request, Slack will notify the assignee, and the modification note will be displayed in Slack.
Note: Since the request change is not an approval task, when you click View Revision Task in Slack, it will open a link to the request's task in Tropic, where the task must be completed.
Once the revisions are done and Submitted, a notification is sent to Slack to the Approver that the task is ready for approval.
Rejecting a Request
- In Slack click Reject and Close
- In the Reject and Close form provide a reason for the rejection and click Reject
- Click Close on the Submitted Rejection modal
- You’ll see a note in Slack that the request has been rejected
Note: If there are others assigned to the task, they will receive an email notification indicating that the request was rejected and providing the reasons why.
Note: Once you click Reject, the request will be closed. To re-open it, please contact Support.
Limitations
- Plain Text Only: Comments are in plain text and do not support rich text formatting.
- Email Accuracy: Ensure the correct email address is used when tagging team members for effective notification.
