Overview
Tropic provides notifications for various activities to keep you informed and responsive. Notifications can be delivered via Slack, email, or directly in the Tropic app. This guide explains the types of notifications, their delivery channels, and expected frequency.
To customize your notification preferences:
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the Tropic platform.
- Select Profile & Notification Settings.
Notification Types
Owned Requests and Contracts
- Channels: Slack, Email, Action Center
- Cadence: Alerts are sent as updates occur on owned items.
- Frequency: Daily reminders for ongoing activity until acknowledged.
- Note:Notifications are triggered by activity within the owned requests or contracts
Assigned Tasks
- Channels: Slack, Email, Action Center
- Cadence: Immediate notifications upon task assignment.
- Frequency: Once daily until the task is completed or acknowledged.
- Note: Newly opened tasks and comments may trigger notifications on weekends
Past Due Reminders
- Channels: Slack, Email, Action Center
- Cadence: Recurring reminders for overdue tasks.
- Frequency: Twice daily until the task is completed or acknowledged.
Request Submission
- Channels: Slack, Email, Action Center
- Cadence: Immediate notifications when a request is submitted.
- Frequency: Newly opened tasks and comments may trigger notifications on weekends.
Contract Renewals & Review Reminders
- Channels: Slack, Email
- Cadence: Sent in advance of renewal or review dates.
- Frequency: Once daily starting one week prior, with increased frequency as the due date approaches.
- Note: These reminders are sent only on business days (weekdays).
Mentions
- Channels: Slack, Email, Action Center
- Cadence: Immediate notifications when tagged in a comment.
- Frequency: One-time notification per mention event.
- Note: Newly added comments may trigger notifications on weekends
Request Spend & Anticipated Spend Changes
- Channels: Slack, Email
- Cadence: Sent immediately upon changes to anticipated spend.
- Frequency: One-time notification for each change event.
Important Notes
- Past due tasks and renewal reminders are only sent on business days (weekdays).
- Notifications for newly opened tasks and comments may be sent on weekends.
- Ensure your notification preferences are configured for your role to stay aligned with your workflows.
