Overview
Every time you open Contracts, Requests, or Suppliers, you probably set up the same filters and columns. Saved Views let you capture that setup once and come back to it instantly.
You can save up to then (10) named views per page, set a default view that loads automatically when you arrive, and make changes on the fly without overwriting a configuration you rely on.
Where Saved Views Are Available?
Saved Views are available on the following pages:
- Contracts
- Requests
- Suppliers
- Price Benchmarks
- Pulse Surveys
- Proposals
- Expert Insights
- Overlapping Suppliers
- Supplier Analysis/Catalog
On the Requests page, List and Columns views each have their own saved views. A view saved in List does not carry over to Columns, and vice versa.
Creating a Saved View
Navigate to any supported page and set up your table the way you want it, apply filters, adjust visible columns, choose a sort order, or add grouping.
Once your table looks right, select Save as New and give the view a name that will be easy to recognize later, such as “My Active Contracts” or “Q3 Renewals.”
Managing Your Saved Views
Loading a saved view
Select any saved view from your list and the table updates immediately to that configuration.
Setting a default view
Until you select a saved view, pages load with the standard table configuration. Once you select a view, Tropic remembers it, if you navigate away and return, your last selected view reloads automatically. Any unsaved changes you made before leaving are preserved when you come back.
Updating a view
If you’ve adjusted your table and want to keep those changes, select Update View to overwrite the existing view with your latest setup. Click the dropdown next to Save as New.
Saving a modified view as a new view
To keep your original view intact while saving a variation, use Save as New. This creates a new view from your current setup and leaves the original unchanged.
Renaming a view
You want to change the name without touching the configuration. Click Update View and edit the name in the dialog.
Deleting a view
Remove views you no longer need from your saved views list. Each page supports up to 10 saved views, so clearing out unused ones keeps your list manageable.
FAQ
Q: Can I share a saved view with my teammates?
A: Not currently. Saved views are personal, each user manages their own. Shared team-level views are planned for a future release.
Q: What happens if a filter or column referenced in a saved view is removed from the platform?
A: The view still loads. Any filter or column that no longer exists is silently ignored, so the rest of the view remains intact.
Q: How many saved views can I create?
A:: Up to 10 saved views per page.
Q: Why do List and Columns views on the Requests page have separate saved views?
A: The two views support different configurations. A view saved in List does not apply to Columns, and vice versa. Each has its own set of saved views.
Q: Can I rename a saved view?
A: Yes. Use the edit option in your saved views list, or delete the view and immediately save a new one with the name you want — your current filters stay in place when you delete.
Q: What happens when I modify the table after loading a saved view?
A: Tropic shows an unsaved changes indicator. The saved view is not changed automatically. You can update the view, save it as a new view, or continue working without saving.
