Your homepage for procurement intelligence - everything you need to act on, all in one place.
Overview
Tropic Focus redesigns the Tropic homepage around a single question: what do you need to know and act on right now? Instead of hunting across email, Slack, supplier pages, and contract tabs, Tropic Focus consolidates everything into one prioritized, navigable homepage.
It’s built for two types of users: procurement ops managers and category leads who log in frequently and want one clear queue of what needs attention today, and category managers and executive stakeholders who don’t log in daily but need higher-signal, proactive alerts tied to spend and risk.
What’s on the Tropic Focus Homepage
Action Center
The Action Center is where Tropic tells you what needs your attention and why. It's organized into three tabs:
- Focus: a prioritized feed of items that need action, such as a contract expiring without a renewal request, an auto-renewal approaching its opt-out deadline, a spike in uncontracted spend, a stalled request, or tasks due today. Items are tiered by urgency and ordered by ownership and dollar value.
- Conversations: mentions and reactions directed at you across request and contract activity.
- Updates: a filterable feed of activity on the contracts and requests you follow or own.
You can act on Focus items directly from the card: complete the underlying work, dismiss with one click, or forward the item to a teammate, which automatically adds them as a follower on the record. Dismissed items can be viewed and restored for 14 days. A settings page lets your org toggle which focus types appear and customize urgency-window timing.
Dashboard & Widgets
The Dashboard is a customizable canvas where you build your own view of the procurement intelligence that matters for your role. Add widgets from Tropic's widget library, pin any of your Saved Views as a widget, and drag, resize, and rearrange until the layout fits how you work. You can act on records directly from a widget, like completing a task or dismissing an insight, without leaving the dashboard.
Every user starts with a default dashboard that includes Renewal Timeline, Purchase Prep Tools, Your Tasks, and Supplier News. From there, the widget library covers four areas:
- Savings: Total Savings, Logged Savings, Savings Breakdown, and Unrealized Savings tell your value story end to end, from the headline number for your next QBR to the savings still sitting in upcoming renewals.
- Renewals, requests, and tasks: Renewal Timeline, Purchase Prep Tools, Stalled Purchase Requests, and Your Tasks run the day-to-day motion: what's coming due, how to walk into the negotiation prepared, and what's stuck or waiting on you.
- Spend and suppliers: Contracted Spend, Redundancy Analysis, and Supplier News show where actual spend is running over contract, where your stack overlaps, and supplier news like security incidents and pricing changes.
- AI consumption: AI Spend Run-rate and AI Commitment Pacing track fast-growing, usage-based AI spend and whether you're pacing to hit your AI vendor commitments.
Dashboards are personal. Each user arranges their own, and widgets only display records you already have access to. For a full description of every widget, including the questions each one answers, see Dashboard Widget Library.
Super Search
Super Search unifies three types of search into one bar, accessible from anywhere on the homepage:
- Ask Tropic AI: ask natural language questions about your contracts, suppliers, and spend.
- Search Your Account Objects: search contracts, requests, suppliers, and other records in your Tropic account.
- Search All Suppliers: search Tropic’s full supplier intelligence database.
Super Search replaces the standalone Supplier Intelligence tab and the previously separate Ask AI entry point.
Signals
Signals is a planning surface built for spend reviews. Preparing a quarterly review with a CFO or a department leader usually means pulling renewals into a spreadsheet and cross-referencing spend, satisfaction, and risk by hand. Signals replaces that prep with a ready-made view: a ranked index of savings, consolidation, and risk opportunities across your entire tech stack, organized by contract end date, so your team can decide where to focus next.
Choose from five views, each surfacing a different type of opportunity with the columns that matter for that signal:
- Recommended: your best overall opportunities, ranked by Contract Insights Priority, which weighs all of Tropic's intelligence on a contract, including price benchmarks, compliance checks, redundant spend, and supplier sentiment
- Consolidation: overlapping SKUs across suppliers, so you can spot potential redundancies
- Compliance: contracts out of compliance with your procurement policies
- Low Sentiment: suppliers scoring poorly with your team on pulse surveys, shown alongside business criticality so you can weigh dissatisfaction against how much the tool matters
- Payment Terms: contracts where improving payment frequency or net terms is likely
Filter any view by Department or by Timeframe, using presets like the next quarter, rest of calendar year, or a custom range. This makes the same tab work for a company-wide review with finance and a focused review with a single department owner.

Frequently Asked Questions
Finding things that moved
Q: How do I search for suppliers in Supplier Intelligence now that the tab is gone?
A: Type a supplier name into the Super Search bar now on every page in the app. You will be able to navigate directly to the Supplier Intelligence page from search.
Q: Where did the Ask AI button go?
A: Ask AI is now part of Super Search. Open the search bar from any page and select the Ask Tropic AI mode to ask natural language questions about your contracts, suppliers, and spend.
Q: Where do my Price Benchmarks show up after I've requested them?
A: The indexes on the old Supplier Intelligence page have been replaced with widgets on the Dashboard. The Purchase Prep Tools widget contains your Price Benchmarks, Proposal Reviews, and Pulse Surveys, and is automatically included on every user's default dashboard.
Q: Where did the Tasks tab go?
A: Tasks now appear in three places: tasks due today surface as items in the Focus tab of the Action Center, the Your Tasks widget is on every user's default dashboard, and the task index lets you filter tasks and save them as a view.
Action Center
Q: Can I control which types of items appear in the Focus feed?
A: Yes, at the organization level. Admins can toggle focus types on and off and adjust urgency-window timing from the Action Center settings page. Individual users cannot tune their own thresholds.
Q: I dismissed an item in the Action Center. Why did it come back?
A: Dismissed items resurface when the underlying condition changes or recurs. For example, an auto-renewing contract you dismissed at 90 days out will return as its opt-out deadline approaches. This prevents a dismissal from permanently hiding an issue that is becoming more urgent.
Q: Can I undo a dismissal?
A: Yes. Dismissed items are retained for 14 days and can be viewed and restored from the Action Center. After 14 days they are permanently removed.
Q: What happens when I forward an item to a teammate?
A: The recipient is automatically added as a follower on the underlying contract or request, and the forwarded item appears in the Updates tab of their Action Center. They get the context and the access in one step, with no separate permissions request.
Dashboard
Q: The preview in the widget library doesn't show my data. Is it broken?
A: No. Library previews intentionally use placeholder data so every widget looks complete before you add it, even if your organization doesn't yet have records of that type. The widget populates with your real data once added to your dashboard.
Q: Can I share my dashboard with a teammate?
A: Not today. Dashboards are personal, and each user builds and arranges their own. Saved Views are also visible only to the person who created them, so a Saved View widget cannot be shared either.
Q: Can I create more than one dashboard tab to group my widgets?
A: Not today. This release supports a single dashboard per user. Multiple tabs is a frequent request and is under consideration for a future release.
Q: What will my team see the first time they log in?
A: Every user starts with a default set of widgets covering core Tropic functionality, such as Your Tasks. From there, each person can add, remove, resize, and rearrange widgets to build their own view.
Q: Do dashboards require special permissions?
A: No. Every user with platform access gets a dashboard, and widgets only display records that user can already see.
Signals
Q: How does the Recommended view decide which contracts are my biggest opportunities?
A: The Recommeded view is ranked by Contract Insights Priority, which weighs all the intelligence Tropic has on a contract, including price benchmarks, negotiation playbooks, compliance checks, redundant spend, and supplier sentiment, to surface the largest opportunities across your entire tech stack.
Q: Why is my Consolidation view empty?
A: Consolidation is powered by supplier overlap data that depends on your Tropic package. If your organization's package doesn't include this data, the view will show an empty state. Reach out to your account team if you'd like access.
